Overview
Mount Kang-Yatse sits proudly within the breathtaking Markha Valley Trail of Ladakh, presenting two distinct summits: Kang-Yatse I soaring at 6400m in the east, and Kang-Yatse II standing at 6250m in the west. While both summits pose technical challenges, Kang-Yatse II is often favored for its relatively easier ascent. To embark on this adventure, your journey begins with a flight to Delhi followed by Leh, nestled in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Upon arrival in Leh, it is highly recommended to allow yourself a minimum of 48 hours for acclimatization, vital for adapting to the altitude. Prior to commencing your expedition, it is advisable to engage in some shorter treks in Ladakh such as the Zinchen to Stok Trek via Stok-la, the Sham Valley trek, among others. Opting for the Markha Valley trek offers a well-suited acclimatization process and typically spans around 5 days, leading you to the base camp situated at 5100m, ensuring both mental and physical readiness for the forthcoming expedition.
